Peotone Vedette
Letters to the Editor

Dated 04/02/09
Dear Editor:

I am writing in rebuttal to your article in the Peotone Vedette, March 26th 2009 by Robert Ogalla. I have never met or spoken to Mr. Ogalla. I do not know where he received his this false information. I'll give you some history on myself. I have lived in Will County for 37 years. I graduated from Providence High School in 1976. I guess that means I am not a Cook County boy. I am running for Will Township Road Commissioner because the gravel roads are not being properly maintained. "There is no deception, arrogance or empty promises."
Maybe you can help me, by finding out who is stealing our political signs from people's yards and corners. It's time for Mr. and Mrs. Ogalla to stop the political nonsense.

Bernardo John Cusimano
Independent Candidate for
Will Township Roads Commissioner
Beecher

Dated 04/02/09

Dear Editor:
In response to several issues George Ochsenfeld and Judy Ogalla bring up in last weeks Letter to the Editor in the Peotone Vedette dated 3/26/09. I have lived here in Will Township just over 3 years and to be exact 3 years 3 months. I have been attending monthly Will Township Board meetings for over a year now. Shame on you George for mentioning Cook County Politics in Will County, when we have taken the high road throughout our campaign.

The right of any candidate running for the office is to mail information
to the voters, put up signs for their candidacy and most importantly, walk neighborhoods to meet the people. Meeting each voter is the way to know what they think about the issues facing us all. The independent Candidates have all been in your neighborhood and reached out to you in several ways. I haven't run across my opposition even once, in several months walking your neighborhoods. That tells me they expect you to vote for them no matter what their record is. I know you are smarter then that!
I would like to point out the fact that I am a S.T.A.N.D. member myself and for George and Judy, our President and Vice President respectfully to insult another S.T.A.N.D. member does not reflect kindly on our organization. I have shown my commitment to S.T.A.N.D., by volunteering when needed and attending most meetings. I would have expected more from them and so should you. For them to say our Roads Commissioner performed miracles in road maintenance, clearly shows they have not been speaking the truth.
The facts speak for themselves. The fact that Judy Ogalla is and has been employed by our township since at least October of 2008, simply makes you wonder, what is motivating her?

And how about that Letter to the Editor by Robert Ogalla last week, criticizing us. His wife ( Judy ) works in the office at Will Township, so we  can understand very easily why he is complimenting the current officials and slinging mud everywhere on the Independent Candidates hoping some will stick.
We don't believe in dirty political campaigns. But we were forced to respond to these unsubstantiated claims. We believe we can put the facts
in front of the voters, talk to you face to face, and you will understand how committed we are. We are genuine in our desire to improve Township government. In light of the eight years the current people have been in office, it will not be difficult to beat their record of accomplishments because they haven't done much.
All of the delays in the building of the airport have been caused by others, in particular the fighting among elected officials in Springfield, as to who will govern the airport. Your current Will Township officials have done nothing to effect the building of the airport, not filed one law suit to stop building and it continues to advance day by day. Our roads are in dismal condition, so much so that they recently had teams of workers out  to improve them just prior to the election to fool you into thinking they have been working hard for years.
It's obvious we are reaching the people, because the current officials and their friends are getting desperate and making untrue claims.
We have been working hard to win your support, we will work to keep our commitment to you if we are elected. That is our pledge.

    David Fazzini
    Independent Candidate
    Will Township Supervisor
